Abstract A non-resonant piezoelectric sensor for measuring power-frequency (50 Hz or 60 Hz) electric currents is proposed to be applied in power systems. The device consists of a magnetic circuit, two plates, and fixed plates. circuit made up three NdFeB magnets permalloy yokes. high sensitivity the attributed field concentration induced shear stresses. prototype has been fabricated feasibility self-powered was validated. average reaches 28.56 mV/A range 1 10 A, accuracy 0.02089 mV at current 3.5 A. variation 0.02 distinguished under condition 50 Hz. self-powered, highly sensitive, non-resonant, high-resolution characteristics make favorable real-time
